Hi all, I believe I may have found a 1962 penny on a dime planchet. The 1962 penny is smaller than the other 1962 alongside of it for comparison. The penny on the left is the normal with the one on the right being the one I am questioning. As you can see from the pics, on the obverse the edge of the coin is impeding on the lettering. The "2" in the date is half covered, the "L" in Liberty is missing and the entire top edge is impeding on the lettering. the weight of the normal is 3.14 Grams and the other coin is 2.77. The one in question fits inside of the normal coin and appears to be much thinner. IS it possible this coin is on a Dime planchet? Did the coin wear down so much to cause the appearance and the difference in weight.
