    Brass plated strikes

    I just now found out about these varieties. Some carry a nice premium too. I didnt see anything in the resources about them. Are these business strike coins?

    I've seen them for sale for a lot of $$, I am not sure anyone is buying them for that much though. They are certainly findable. I believe they occurred on a few different years of business strikes like '83 and '98, but I am working from memory here, so I may be wrong.

      I have found rolls of them - mostly 83 - but many other dates - you want buy some!!!!!!

        I agree Roger, 1983 seems the most common.

        Here is the nicest one I've seen, 2007.

          97D's. I used to have a roll if 97D's somewhere. I used to take them to work
          with me, along with a normal looking 97D in a saf-flip and gave many of them
          away, trying to create interest in variety collecting

            The brassy color is from the way the mint washed them correct? I mean the coin metal isnt actually any different than normal. Or is it?
