Your photography is really amazing, well done. What lens do you use?
I tried to figure out which die based on your excellent photo's, it is a task beyond these novice eyes.
I do not see the die cracks on the obverse or reverse that you have found.
I made a few crops and I still can't decide.
Thank you, I shoot through a binocular scope. You pictures are also very good.
It is very possible that it is either a new die or a different die state of one of the ones posted. Either way it is very hard to tell even with a scope.
Nice find. I didn't know about this until I learned about it from this forum. Unfortunately, several years ago I had a seal Mint bag of 1996-D cents that i went thru and was very unproductive, but i distinctly remember see several coins in the bag that had those lathe lines on them. I think I kept them for a while because they did look pretty cool. But alas, I really didn't know much about them and decided sometime along the way to get rid of them. Now I want to find one again.
