Just spent the last 5 days at the Florida United Numismatists coin and money show; if you have never been to this show, it is one that you should put on your list to attend.
Talk about a who's who in the E/V community; Bill Fivas, Chuck Daughtrey, Fred Weinberg, Arnie Margolis, Jon Sullivan, Mark Lighterman (CONECA V.P.), Rich Schemmer, Mike Elllis, Rick Snow, Walter Ostremski (ANA governor) were all at the show.
Jeanie and I spent the majority of the show at the NCADD table verballly attributing error and variety coins for those who had questions concerning their finds. While there were more than the usual machine douibling coins, we did have a chance to see some nice errors.
I finally found the 1921-D Walking Liberty half dollar that I needed to complete that set and I also found a 1864 "L" Indian head cent with a MPD (Snow die # 2, pictured below)
While the weather did not cooperate at all (it snowed and sleeted in the Orlando area on Saturday), the FUN show broke its previous attendance record of over 10,000 visitors and had close to 600 dealers. This is the bellwether coin show of 2010 folks and if it is any indication for future coin shows, the outlook for this year look great.
Anyway, give me a few days to catch up on the work that I have let slide during the FUN show and I'll be back posting.
