    2010 Lincoln Cent

My first 2010 and got it at Micky D's in change. When I saw it I asked if they had a roll I could get and they handed one right over (Shrink Wrap). Should have asked for a box

I really like lincoln's portrait - looks like the original 1909 version - the reverse i will have to get use to.

I haven't seen any in circulation yet. marilyn keeney was nice enough to send me a couple. It's not bad, but I don't know if I'll ever get used to not having a memorial. I can just see it now, 50 yrs from now when our great great grandchildren are on LCR and posting their memorial finds from a brick.

We really ought to enjoy it while we can because IMHO the Lincoln Cent and the Jefferson are due for a long over due downsizing and phase out, not my opinion, just a realty check. There are a lot of folks calling for their demise.

LCR member Shamelss sent me one a few weeks ago. The design is a mixed bag. The new "retro" obverse looks great, but that reverse is kind-of-not-okay. Maybe it will grow on me...

I'm sure there will be reverse doubled dies discovered for this design but whatever they are they are going to be boring. Like the dbl columns. (Sorry all you dbl column lovers.)

I agree about the dbl cols and knees on and near the statue.

By the way, I think its interesting how some of us are reacting the same way I did in 1959. I think we are all comfortable with what we are used to. I think the shield could grow on us as time goes on. I didn't like the Ben franklyn half or the roosevelt dime either when they first came out.

Is the shield a long range or temporary change?

As I understand it, this is the design going forward.

I like this design, it is better than any of the Halls of Congress designs and just maybe our representatives will get the message, we are a Union.

There will undoubtedly be doubled dies found on the 2010 comparable to the types
found on the memorials. Can also compare searching for those new doubled dies to
searching for doubled knees, feet, warts, blisters and hang nails we see on the 09's
backwatds into the 90's. Something for everyone. I shall defend them all, they are
all fun. As for the 09 #4 run of cents, i have eleven D's, no plains and still trying to
complete a roll of 09D #1 cabins. It takes time, I'm an old fuddy duddy and will hang
in there. I got two hundred twenty rolls yesterday, maybe some more #4's? We love
                      our hobby in all aspects.

For those with Hearty Hearts 2010-P Bricks on E-Bait from $149 - $199 and most going BIN for $169.

What a shame for pennies that will be produced in the Millions range by the time they get done.

I am not fond of the Reverse and I will wait until my bank gets them in before buying from an outside source.
