1972 S Lincoln Cent Heavy Raised Rim

My son found a "1972 S Lincoln Cent Heavy Raised Rim"

It appears to be in between an EF 45 and AU 50

Is this worth much more than 1 or 2 Cents?

When I did searches on Heavy Raised Rim, High Rim or Thick Rim -- I found very little good information.

1972 cents are well known for heavy rims, including rim cuds, and other errors in general. The presence of a "heavy rim" doesn't command any premium.

        Welcome to the forum!
I agree it doesn't sound like something outside of normal Mint tolerances, however, without a picture it is hard to say for certain. Can you post a photo or two?

Watch for 1973 to be the same way.

This maybe also what is called a finned rim. This is where some of the copper squeezes out between the die and the collar. However, without a picture it is hard to tell.
