    '09 cracked die

This is the most pronoumced crack I've found on a '09 to '10 coin and I've found very few. Is it just me or are ther fewer of these getting away from the mint police? Have you found many? George

It is unlikely the 'Mint Police" would pull pieces with die cracks like this. The presses strikes thousands in a very short amount of time, and I believe there are 6 or so different coins being struck on the same machine. When the die actually breaks, or if something else happens, they would pull the dies then, but not necessarily for cracks like this.

What I was thinking is that perhaps they have developed computer programs to detect die cracks (or ftigue) at an early state and pull defective dies before they actually break. For that matter I don't recall anyone here reporting an '09 or '10 cud.

jim you are funny but to be real it would be wise to keep an eye on the die crack progression for 2009. I am currently searching for die cracks for 2009 to see if it becomes a major error.

          Thanks Lucien
