    Wavy step question

I tend to learn better from pictures than by books on variations and Ive learned alot here about die cracks, cuds, Wams, trail dies but Wavy steps i have a hard time identifying. Does anyone have a few very good quality pictures who can point out what they are looking for and if like CUDs and die trails the different stages of the Wavy steps.

Thank you for asking that atarian. I also would like to see what I need to look for.

We have a whole web site with thousands of pictures of wavy steps. Go to traildies.com and browse the site. On any die number, if there is a suffix of WS, it identifies that die as a wavy step. Here is a link to one of the pages:

What we are looking for on wavy steps is what is called step deviation and fluting line extensions. Step deviation is the little 'bump' (normally running south onto the steps) that gives them the appearance that they are wavy. Fluting line extensions are lines that extend into the memorial base. They usually show from the bottoms of columns 2, 3, 11 and 12.
Look around the site. You will see hundreds of examples that should help you out...OK??
