Glad you've found so many. I only have found one, and that one is a 2000 WAM. I'm still searching.

It's a bird! It's a plane! Aw nuts... It's merely two die scratches!

Great find and a Woody to boot. I have quite a lot of the wood grain cents, refered to as Woodys. There are some really beautiful ones.

The wood grain effect was due to an improper alloy mix of the copper used to mint pre-1983 cents. I don't see how any coins after this date can have the same affect since we are talking about plating a zinc core. IMHO, this coin looks like it is stained, not the wood grain affect we associate with the older wheats.

I agree with Bob, while the woodgrain "effect" looks cool, it's not real. Definately a keeper though! Where's the reverse?

The reverse didnt have a wood grain like effect. Just a WAM Reverse.

Excellent! Not too bad of a pic, I'd say, under the circumstances

i wasnt too happy with it. That was the best of 8 tries. Itll do for now. Its a cool looking obverse with the wood grain like effect. even if its not a real wood grain coin its one of those freaks of nature that makes collecting coins fun and exciting.

Only problem with the pic is the light reflection... That is a good keeper of a coin!!!
