How much damage does an arm have to do before the marks are buffed out? This is quite dramatic in the flesh. Fun to look at; no particular value. Just sharing.

It is an interesting question. I have not seen or heard of a specific circumstance where a die was polished from a scrape - that doesn't mean it hasn't happened - it just means no one found evidence of it occurring (yet). I do not see why it may not have happened; deciphering the evidence to prove may be hard though. An interesting question that I will ponder. Of course this example shown is at a point where it either needs to be polished down or retired.

<<no particular value. Just sharing. >>
The issue of a coin's worth or value is intriguing. I personally keep coins that I find interesting, regardless of "street value or what my fellow "numies" would do with it. Whether or not someone else thinks it's worth anything is irrellevant to me.
So, Roller... is this one a "keeper" to you?
If I found it, I would keep it. I know many would "toss it", but that doesn't matter to me. Also, if I ever had a friend or family member who became interested in numismatics, I'd have a cool example to show them.
I guess it's all in the name of "good fun".

Indeed! I have rolls I label as "Toned/Misc" that I toss anything of interest in. I popped one open a month or so ago and it was a pretty cool roll. Anyone that appreciates Lincolns would definately enjoy looking through the coins in my misc tubes!VERDI-CARE™ ALL METAL CONSERVATION FLUIDComment

That's good point Geo, and I too keep anything unusual on the side. In case like this, I do have one nice example of feeder finger damage for reference and if a better example surfaces I would switch it out with the new one and move the old one to the die damage box...
