I would put my money on the 1972 4-0-1. There few and far between. I have yet to see one posted with verification. Just my thought's......1955 DDO is a good one too.
Considering the prices of the 55 DDO, I think the 72P 001 would be the most likely for the average collector to afford. Once the available supply is depleted the price can only go up. Just my humble opinion though.

That's tough. The safe bet would be: '55 DDO-001, 1972 DDO-001 and maybe 1983 DDR-001. I think 1995D DDO-003 has good potential to keep increasing. 2006 DDO-003 should do better but I have no idea if it will or not. 1972 DDO-004 is overrated (I say this while pining for one mind you)...
David,
I understand your fondness over the 2005 DDR, but there are many reasons why it doesn't fit into the category we are discussing here. First off, there are many doubled dies that show doubled feet, and some of them are stronger, and have more doubled design elements than yours. Secondly, the strength of the doubling is not 'naked eye visible' like the major doubled dies. Third, there are not a lot of folks who would consider paying any premium for a coin like this. It is nice, but I'm afraid it doesn't stack up to the biggies.

I agree with Jason 100%. Even though the 2006 1DO-003 is a nice one and pretty strong, I think I find more of these then any other variety. I think I have 5 of them all found in rolls right now. I like all the 2006s myself but there are just waaaaaaay too many of them. Hopefully if I hoard all of them Ill have the advantage in 40 yrs..lol

Bob,
With all due respect, the question posed in the opening post of the thread asked for an opinion or a guess. That is my opinion, my guess. Sure I might be wrong. Who cares. I just wanted to participate. Based on percentages I believe the 2005 DDO-001 has as much of a chance as any to out perform the others. Sure, I may be biased, I may be wrong too but I saw my opportunity to chime in and did so. I usually just observe from the background. Should we encourage members to participate in the dialog or should we make them feel as if their opinion will be criticized if made public? Do you really need to provide three reasons why I am wrong. Is mine the only guess you disagree with? Geeze! Don't get me wrong, I support your right to disagree with my opinion 100%. Can you discern a 1972 DDO-004 with the naked eye? Maybe I'm being too sensitive? I'll return to the background and keep quiet now. Sorry if my guess doesn't measure up. Carry on.
Whatever you say David. I certainly didn't mean to offend you. After all...what do I know? The question asked for coins and die value, and I gave my opinion as to why your choice was not a good candidate for this poll. Obviously, I was wrong, it is a great candidate in your eyes. I usually try to avoid any confrontation on this forum David. Obviously, I didn't do a good job on this one. I apologize.
