I have seen mis-attributed errors and die varieties in holders on many occasions. It is sad to say that they are sometimes incorrect in their assessments of the most basic coins.

I agree, and it sadder that people put so much faith in TPG's.

Consumers put a lot of faith in too much... false advertising / certification is everywhere.
A few years back I purchased a "certified" Mercedes and in order for something to be certified it can't have any previous history of accidents... and they put the certified sticker right over the dented frame of the vehicle! (long story short)
Moral of the story do your research... To much stuff now days is certified fraud...
So I emailed the ebay seller of this coin asking him about it and this is his response.
small date by NGC & PCGS last number zero is above number seven and the seven and zero are small makes this coin small date coin as you can veiw thank you for looking
I checked out the ebay site where this is posted and correct if wrong, but I do not see any reference to PCGS on the post. Its ok to reference NGC in his reply but don't see PCGS to throw them under the bus also.

She is refering to a response he sent in reply to her question...it is not posted on the listing
ok, thanks. It just looked to me like in the response he was also stating PCGS is claiming or grading this as a small date. What I am mad about is I have seen several of these in my searches and always put them aside as being large date.

i just don't see room for a mistake here. this guy, gal, what ever, knows they are selling mis-labeled coins. at one time they had 4 different NGC slabbed 70-s large dates graded small dates. i don't care for NGC but everybody there can't be that bad. this person, delotta76, sent me a nasty e-mail after i said they were mis-slabbed. please don't report me?
