Interesting Coin | 2004 Multi Struck in Collar?

    EBAY LINK

Found this coin interesting. Rotated in collar double struck? Thoughts? The real deal or a fake?

Doctored to my view. Would there not have to be a similar rotation on the reverse and should not the date and other devices on the obverse also be doubled/rotated if it were?

Good question, I have no idea, know next to nothing about errors but find them fun to look at. Elements appear raised, how would one accomplish this?

I do always question a seller who lists his items privately. So thats a flag in my book.

Also with a feedback of 3, I'd have a hard time trusting, image doesn't look right.

I saw this one too and decided it was messed with. what got me was that I couldn't make out any evidence of a multi strike on the reverse, yet it appeared to be struck at least three times on the obverse. I was tempted to place a small bid early on, but I'm glad I let it slide on by after thinking clearly for a second.

It is a manipulated coin that has been doctored outside the mint. We do not have a section on "soft dies" in error-ref.com YET, but if an one does have images of this type of non-error I would be interested in seeing those images.

And of course, the buyer's identities have been hidden (LOL).
