Rare Coin | Heritage long beach a pair of 1992 d cam

    Long Beach has 2 cams PCGS MS 64 RED and a PCGS ms 65 RED 1992 D cam..lot 3721 and 3722

every auction 1 comes up...a few more pop out...where are these going to end up?
this all hit big at summer FUN with a MS 64 red brown going for 20K..then a 1992 p MS 67 went at 24K
although the last one went stronger than what I thought... I don't see those numbers as more pop up...
my quess..... 10K for the 64..and $17,963.27 for the 65.....

    Gentlemen ...can I hear...$1..???? do I hear $2??

Are they in any registry set?
Just wondering if something other than being rare is driving the prices.

I would think owners see recent sales numbers and decide now is the time to jump into the market while there is publicity and hype over this variety. Coin sales do not always go up. Like a stock, you pick and choose when to sell.

I'm shocked HA is willing to test the market with two at once. Have to assume they know what they are doing. Any indication they are from the same seller?

BTW, can anyone check the PCGS population on this coin?

Not mine, just saw it under the images search.

Which I will add that the current auction will be interesting. I think one of the 92's is the lesser specimen updated by a PCGS registry member who paid the current record price for the 92 specimen as it was an upgrade and the guy has stupid money to burn. Therefore, I do not think either coin will sell as strong and again, I repeat, the pops will continue to go up as more are found thus not supporting the current market of these cents. JMHO.

I am going to say they go for $8500 and $17,300 respectively.

                        Interesting.
The 92-P and 92-D CAMs are #11 and #12 on the top 100 list. I guess that helps their value. Some of the others above them are non collectible like the 1964 Peace dollars or about unobtainable like 1974 aluminum cents:

I wonder where they'll wind up ten years from now? Why this one particular variety has caught on the way it has, eludes me. Ultimately, I believe it is good for the hobby. Just strange. There are so many other significant doubled dies that people pay no mind, but some are willing to pay $20k for a very slight design change?

I'd like to see the Au 50 on eBay in hand. Hard to tell from pic , looks like a lot of red, and luster for a 50. Could be undergraded.
