Anyone worked with COINSHOP on Amazon?

I placed an order for some coin collecting supplies from a seller named COINSHOP on Amazon.com. I placed the order 1/26 and they stated shipping and handling times of 3-5 days total. It's now 17 days later and based on tracking status, they still have not shipped the items yet. Has anyone worked with this seller before?

Checking their feedback on their profile, apparently a lot of people had complaints about shipping, so you're not alone. A seller to stay away from in my opinion.

I haven't, and I don't know how their pricing compares, but if you are looking for supplies I would highly recommend Wizard Coin Supply. I've never had any issues with them, and their prices are very reasonable.

They have their own website as well www.coinshop.com I too placed an order around the same time, only i did it through their website. I paid for it the same day and the status of my order still shows "Not Shipped Yet". I have emailed them 3 times in the past two weeks with no replies. I have bought tons of moderns from these guys in the past with only a few minor problems. Now this. I have also learned that these guys have a habit of practices like these, and that they go by many company names: PCU, CoinShop, Cshop, and Coinnuts.

Only stuff I buy from amazon is if amazon sells it, or if they fill the order, leaving the seller no option to screw me. If I have to buy from a person I use ebay as the buyer has more protection/recourse there.

Uh-Oh... if CoinNuts is the same as the guys based out of Couer D'Alene, Idaho, you may have a problem. All of his inventory was confiscated by the state becuase he owes hundreds of people several million dollars total. Scam artist of the worst time. He drags his feet shipping and only delivers under a direct threat of action... Bad Guy!!

Yup Chris, that is the one. I came across an article on the net which eluded to the lawsuit. I did not mention it because of the reaction I got last time I posted about bad customer service. I have seen as many as 6 business aliases this guy has used.

Yup, I've heard that he uses all different kinds of names online. Pure rip-off artist. In fact, he got caught stealing at a major show and is banned from all coin shows nationwide, literally. His name is Kevin Mitchell. In the end, it's really sad because he had a really decent sized shop with great inventory, but laziness and greed got in the way and now everyone locally knows better. I could tell you half a dozen stories that would blow your mind, but here's one short one:

An elderly lady walks into CoinNuts and insists on seeing the owner. He comes out and she tells him she's got a gun in her purse and she's ready to blow her head off in his shop unless Kevin pays off his bad check in full (more than $10K). She also explains that she left a note at home on her table explaining everything- he'd bought her husband's estate when he died, paid with a check that bounced. He gave her the run-around for months with tons of excuses. When she gave him an ultimadem he came back out with a pile of cash and paid her immediately.

A couple of years back, this guy also supposedly broke both his ankles in a "freak accident".... dealers here know that "freak accident" was code for violently enforced karma, as in "he screwed one too many people". It does happen if you want to play that way.

                  Just look at this: https://www.google.com/#hl=en&tbo=d&...w=1366&bih=643

This thread turned awesome with the breaking bones story. I love it. Thanks Chris.

The thing is, his website was a great innovation. It was a place folks could purchase inexpensive moderns without the shipping charges on ebay. I really liked it a lot about 2 years ago, when he actually filled orders.

I also liked the look and flow of his site as well.

He used to pay GS Bid for mint sets (unheard of as a dealer buy price). He did have a good thing going, quite an eBay factory. But in the end, as it always does, it caught up to him.

I have to ask why Amazon continues to allow this seller to be on their site given the history?

I think all he has to do is change his name and contact info and he's back in business. No different than ebay. I know of a couple of guys who've been banned from eBay for life, yet they have accounts in other people's names.
