Interesting Coin | *Sniff* Do I smell fish?

This coin is listed as a 1992D Close AM. On the full reverse photo, I would guess it's a RDV-006 (looks like a gap between A and M, initials look close to the building, the A in STATES looks more shifted to the left), but the third photo looks like a RDV-007.

    NEW LINK- http://www.ebay.com/itm/LINCOLN-MEMO...p2056016.l4276

In addition, I can't help but be a little skeptical when a seller provides no commentary on the coin whatsoever, and there is a feedback score of 0. Anyone know anything about this coin, or have thoughts in general about the auction?

They won't get their money until they receive positive feedback from the transaction. But I'm pretty skeptical of the listing too.

Wait, is this a policy for first time sellers? If so, bravo eBay.

It has been for 18 months, maybe 2 years. I think they got tired of having to reimburse the scammed buyer.

It will get pulled for not having pics of the PCGS slab that is noted in the description. The cert no. leads to a registry set. Why on earth wouldn't they include pics of the slab? That would change everything.

Illini can not be contacted via PCGS forums. This is the guy who the cert number says is the owner. I recall he came on this forum when folks questioned if it was worth the money to have bought the coin. He reported here that it came back AU 58. Can someone find that thread and contact him???

I haven't talked to Dale in a week or so, but I guarantee you that he's not selling his CAM, not at all- he just bought it.

It's reported, so I will wait for the ebay rep - it should get pulled, so we will then have to keep tabs on the seller to see if it goes back up.

Agree the one coin in that listing is different.
But he said "Do you think I overpaid at $3200 or the uncertified was overpaid at $200."

I'm not sure what he meant, did he buy 2 coins? I couldn't really understand with certainty and I couldn't tell much from the small pics other than it wasn't the coin in the one link like you said.

In any case, the listing looks unconvincing and I think it's not from his location/state. So unless he says it's ok I'd assume it's probably a bad listing using his cert number. Being uncertain, I wasn't going to report it just in case he was selling a dupe.

You could probably solve it by looking at his set, maybe it shows the one with that cert. Or maybe he will chime in.

Any news from Ebay Jason? This really has to get pulled--the price is crazy and full of uninformed bidders.
