Buyer Beware | 1909-S VDB and 1914-D on eBay

Hopefully none of you guys have bid on these!

They appear to have the characteristic extra thickness, on the 09-S, and the die chip on the left wheat of the 14-D, as do the counterfeits.

In the bottom lines of his sales pitch he tells you they are copies.
Still counterfeit correct? Unless it's stamped as I remember.

That's one way to beat around the bush I suppose! I noticed, but of course not sure what exactly that was referring to. I have heard people here use the term copy, as in "my copy of that variety". Odd that there is no mention of the 14-d. At only %75 positive feedback, this must must not be the first time!

Cranky, I believe you are correct, and I highly doubt these will have "copy" stamped on them.

Interesting too is that the only other feedback as a seller is for a similar group with the same wording and the buyers feedback was a neg "As is. Fast shipping" and the listing says "Seller does not offer returns."
Still, a buyer can return with a SNAD if they try it but it sounds like the first buyer gave over $500 and kept it even though they gave a neg.

Maybe the "copy" excuse won't work because I think copies are not allowed anymore on ebay.

On the TV ads for the fake gold buffalo coins they talk about the real buffalo gold coins and their value going up to thousands then they say "get your copy today". Maybe that's how they got the idea.
As misleading as it is, it's a pity if anyone hears the word copy and thinks it means a real coin. It's not like getting your own copy of the newspaper, that's a different meaning. LOL...
