    Rare Coin | 1795 Bust

Although this is off topic for the LCR, I think this is one of the most beautiful early coins I have ever seen. I guess if I had almost 7 million dollars, I would pick it up.

What blows my mind is that this 6.85 million dollar coin is only worth a $15 First Class package. REALLY? I would have bought it, but that extra 15 bucks changed my mind

I had an 1804 'crosslet 4-stems' at one time, and I loved that design myself!

My all-time favorite still has to be the original St. Gaudens $20 Gold Eagles, however. Obverse AND reverse!

That's a nice looking coin... I think 15 for insurance and shipping on a 7 million dollar coin is a little on the cheap side The pic of the coin looks strange to me... If it is in a slab I would expect to see the little tabs that keep the coin from moving around... To me it looks as if it is in a cardboard holder... I see some scratches that appear as if they are on the thin plastic sheet of the cardboard holder???

It is in a slab Jim (NGC MS62), and those scratches are on the slab. I can't remember if this is the same coin I saw in person about 25 years ago, but I think it is. It is an absolutely beautiful coin. Can you get it for me for Christmas? I promise I'll be a good boy but I can only afford $14 toward the postage costs.

Thanks Bob... It just looked strange to me... It would be cool to see that in person... If you look at the whole auction he needs the extra $15 to buy more animation for his next auction

Bob, I am sensing a lack of faith in government workers here. I would personally just send the 6.85 mill and then tell them just to put a stamp on it. Wat could go wrong? They are professional government workers! If we can't count on them....

Well when the postal service sends a package from Pennsylvania to North Carolina via Oklahoma City, Will I don't know what to think!

                      Awesome coin!

I think a serious buyer would pick it up in a Lear jet

I'm sure they had a perfectly valid reason for that. At least you go it!

Exactly! This is what I was trying to explain to my wife who couldn't understand why I was laughing so hard. Only difference was that instead of Lear Jet, I said "armored helicopter."
