    Struck through gold dollar ?

Well, I've got a few coins on eBay that I'm selling for a friend, and while I was posting pics I realized one was probably an error and did the usual eBay thing....put a ??? in the title. It seems to have generated a lot of interest pretty quickly. What do you guys think ? http://www.ebay.com/itm/272585037865...84.m1555.l2649

I was thinking struck through but then possible lamination because of the light "loose" squiggly cracks between the two stars opposite her chin. That seems to indicate to me that there may have been other problems with the planchet before being struck.

The pic pixelated on me when I zoomed in but it looks more like a lamination peel to me... I would think a strike thu would have left a smoother transition from the area out into the coin... Also the area just west of her upper lip appears to be fairly deep and would have affected the opposite area on the rev??? That coin is in nice shape and worth more than the current $71.00 bid IMHO!!!

Yes, it will probably go higher...I am surprised it went to $71 so quickly.....that's usually a good sign. I don't know why the zoom feature didn't work on this auction, it usually does automatically.

Almost looks like clash marks on the reverse as well (?)
