    expensive FY varieties (with cracks!)

This seller has two FY variety auctions (CDDR-007) with unusually high start bids. The seller tries to make a case that all of the cracks and die deterioration doubling make these unique coins...though it should be noted that some of the cracks look like die-scratches and PMD...

Check out the images - they are puzzling - I almost think this is the first time I am seeing someone using an opaque projector and a hand held magnifying glass over the projected image to show details.

Notice that picture #1 is stated as "The coin encased!"

    CDDR-007 for $350

    CDDR-007 for $75

I checked them and it seems to me that this guy thinks the CDDR-007 is on a Denver mint coin. I don't recall any being found on D-mint coins have you?

The epitome of being in cloud 9 and not knowing exactly what is going on. Of course, these auctions will or may get a bid or two from those who are as equally knowledgeable in the E/V part of this hobby.

Isn't it great to have a site like this, the LCR, to learn and not make such mistakes as this.

The fact that he is offering a 2009-D has to be the seller's biggest (and most ignorant) mistake. I would complain to eBay about this erroneous listing but they won't do anything about.

So true! I know I am beyond grateful for LCR and could only wish that more eBayers found their way over here...
