    1912 S RPM 1 ????

Looks like something there, but I can't find any markers so do your homework first.

It looks more like a nice AU than an unc, also has a tiny lamination and that can make it not get a straight grade so if it gets up to the price of an unc I'd pass.

It's cheap now so I'd watch the price, not sure what the RPM adds.

This looks like a very close grade in my opinion and maybe a good rule of thumb, so as not to over bid.

          Nice RPM.

It looks like a die scratch at the top of the foot of the L (to I) that is visible in CC images. If so this might be a later MDS.

It's a different die state from the one on CC ( whitch is mine ).
It has a clash on the reverse that is similar to what I see on my early die state 1929-s rpm#1 Screenshot_20191108-192435_Samsung Internet.jpg
This clash isn't on my 12-s
So sad ... My reverse consumption engine was a broken fuel gauge ... gonna look at coins now. John

That person avoided giving the grade from their SEGs slab. Maybe they didn't agree with it? hmmm

I knew that I had seen that reverse clash on a 12-s rpm#1 before. Here it is , https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...chTerms=1912-S

The lighting is too bright. I wouldn't be surprised if that isn't corrosion in front of the face. It looks most definitely AU.

It's a bird! It's a plane! Aw nuts... It's merely two die scratches!

They may have not agreed with it but more likely, just a good seller, not reiterating the slabs grade, where it is not a top tpg, or approved tpg by eBay. Their rating is great and they also have a brick and mortar, so most than likely, a reputable coin dealer.

But don't take longer than two days to pay as the clock starts ticking the day of the sale.
(No matter how many days are in a weekend or auctions you may want to bundle. )

                        Agreed, I like the seller.

Good point on ebay rules, I'm not sure what they consider SEGs. SEGs isn't a top 3 but they are probably top 5, Larry/SEGs is a pretty respected guy and been a BM shop forever and lots of folks will say he is one of the top experts or the top for a lot of things like nickel designations and other types. The grades might not have much respect but I'd think it's wrong if ebay didn't even let a person show the slab. On top of that, they are the toughest slab on earth and probably make good armor LOL!

Thats correct, SEGS is not considered a top slabber by eBay so the slab can not be shown and thus the coin must be considered raw for a listing. And as Ed said, cracking SEGS holder is like busting rocks.
