I decided to bid on a bunch of his coins. I was winning each one as I went. But by the time I got through them to the end, I had been outbid on 5 of them.

You better stop it...NOW..lol. I'm bidding on about 25 of them. Just got outbid on about 15..so I think your right..we need to negotiate. I'm bidding on those under 1930. Not all of them but most..lol I really like the 1911. I'm backing out the 11S because its badly damaged, not worth itComment

Yeah, that was me. I am also after the early dates. Yeah. You outbid me on the 1911. I'll lay off that one for you.
I did not bid on the 11s.
Be picky, because I think some of them are cleaned.Last edited by willbrooks; 03-21-2020, 03:36 PM.All opinions expressed are not necessarily shared by willbrooks or his affiliates. Taking them may result in serious side effects. Results may vary. Offer not valid in New Jersey.Comment

Over priced. Every coin listed is way over bid for a raw coin. Some have an old cleaning and the 11S is badly damaged over $50..Crazy pricesComment

Bidding FYI.
The big "bad" auction site is changing the bidder's id somewhat regularly from what I'm able to tell. They're pretty tricky.("To keep things safe for everyone." It does help protect the seller from "collusion"
on bidding. ) So we may be bidding against each other more than we realize.
I've been trying to keep track of members ID, with dates when able, to keep from driving up prices, just for the sake of following a coin by bidding. Both of your ID's have changed since January. (Others may already realize, the site doesn't allow you to see your own initials, just your screen name.)
"Current Bids ID", "Bid History ID", and "Feedback ID"
Three places I look include:
1)"Current Bids ID":
Click on "Bids". The "Bid History" page opens. [For demonstration purposes let's say a...r (1800*) is high bidder on the "Bid History" page]
2)"Bid History ID"
When you click on a...r , a page, "Bid History: Details", opens with a different ID. [a...o(1800*) in this case]
3)"Feedback ID"
Sellers Feedback page has a different ID for each buyer, than either of the 2 mentioned already. These can be cross-referenced if you know the winner's ID.
When I have looked by clicking on the "Item#", the "Feedback ID" is different than the "Winner ID" when "Bids" is clicked, if the seller even allows viewing the item purchased.
It keeps everyone guessing that is keeping track, as to who is bidding, and ultimately protects the seller with a more fair auction. (And therefore the auction sites bottom line.) Now if the site was more diligent about "shill" bidding by sellers to falsely increase their selling price, that would be good for buyers. I think this is the reason for a bidders ID to be seen. Buyers can use the info above to see if a seller is conducting "shill" (fake) bidding to drive up their sales price.
With all this being said, a fair auction for everyone really is the ultimate goal. (Knowledge or blurry images not with standing.) Buyers want the lowest price & sellers want the highest.
A fair auction is the "happy medium" for both IMHO.
EDIT: I just noticed the auction may even be chaging the Bidders ID from one coin auction to the next with the same seller.Last edited by Petespockets55; 03-29-2020, 11:30 AM.Comment

Im outbid on all 28 coins I started except 1. Were both outbid by a new person now. I cant see anyone paying them prices for a raw coin. Some of them are higher than a graded one in the same condition. He can keep themComment

Some one that does not know what all of you have previously said, old cleaning, not worth the grade, etc. Good on all of you for pulling back. As another close collecting friend once told me. "Let it go, there will be another some day - after all, they made millions"
