Wow. That's like almond milk. We should sell our lincolns as "Polish gold." That seller has a 93%.

Some spell it out in the description but many do not. Even if they explain it in the description, it's still very misleading. Here are several listings.
Wow very interesting... Never new that.. According to this definition the trem silver is no longer allowed if there is no silver in the mix... If that indicates it is illegal then the seller should not be allowed to have that up on ebay???
Jim (A.K.A. Elmer Fudd) Be verwy verwy quiet... I'm hunting coins!!! Good Hunting!!!
The scam gold they sell on ebay is Cook Island gold coins.
They are marked by coin weight but the fine print says .24 pure gold, so their 1/10 ounce $5 gold coins are .024 oz not ,24 oz.
They are real coins, but intentionally misleading.
Check out ebay, all sellers are asking the value as if they were 24K pure gold and in ebays heading it even says 1/10th ounce precious metal per unit. That would only be true if you consider copper to be a precious metal!

Didnt see the listing, its pulled or ended but German silver isnt really a scam. Thats what it's called. Been around since late 1700s. Sometimes called "White Copper" or "Nickel Silver"
Dont just see the word SILVER and bid. Look it up, its 0% actual silver.

Hah!! I'm am well aware of this sir, before I posted this but not before a bought a 1 oz. pretty paperweight for about $11, small price to pay for my mistake. I do my homework, generally, before buying but had searched "silver bullion" under the silver bullion category. The bottom dropped out of silver, along with the rest of Wall Street and I figured I would see what was out there. Usually I just buy from larger, more solid companies, such as, APMEX, Sunshine Mint and Scottsdale Mint but will occasionally buy from individuals. You see lots of different names for the "art bars" and I didn't really think much about the "German silver" name at the time but was not familiar with the name at all, now I am. What got my attention, was that I won the auction about $1.50 below spot silver prices and then I started my late homework...
I started my love of coins about 10 years ago with Morgan silver dollars and occasionally mess with bullion too if the price is right. Here is a thread that is on this site of one of the many Morgan dollars that passed through my hands over the last decade. (http://www.lincolncentforum.com/foru...ghlight=morgan) My love is now for Lincolns but I will always have a soft spot for her, still the most beautiful coin ever minted, in my opinion.
