I think you are on it... Looks like the die cracks on CCs LDS can be seen on the shoulder and the rt wheat stalk... They are worn down from circulation and the dies looks to be even later than CCs sample!!!

Something is bothering me about this coin. It's not right.
And I think that die crack looks too far south for a match.
Maybe I'll take a harder look.

Shiver me timbers... a dopplegänger. Odd that the date/mm overlay matched.

Funny thing is, one of the ones I have, I think actually isn't, and may in fact be a "doppelganger, " but I haven't had the time to look further into my uncertainties yet. I'm probably wrong, but I thought this was the point of studying and questioning things. Remember, I'm the one that fixed the whole 1911D rpm 3 mess.

Do an overlay on the die crack and get back to me.

The obverse and reverse die states are grossly disproportional here. Im not seeing the shoulder crack at all on the obverse. Is it there? If they are legit photos, and you are right about the obverse die, then you may have discovered a new die state of this rpm before the reverse die was changed. Don't mind me. I'm crazy.

Lol. I went to buy it, just to study it and was met with a message that the seller isn't accepting bids or purchases from me. That tells me everything I need to know right there.

Why would they do that Will?

Ok, I have this coin in hand, and it is NOT an RPM. Let's try to remember that mint mark location without other corroborating markers can only be used to rule out, not to rule in.

Cool... Could yours be a late Stage C??? On VVs Stage C the second and third MMs aren't really noticeable in the pics... They look like die damage!!!
