Hard to describe. But I hold the slab at the end with the label. Then I spin my hand in a small circle as quick as possible. At the botton of the circle I smack the corner of the slab against a table. I use a magazine to cushion the blow a little. I have to hit it about a hundred times to get it to rotate about 45 degees. It also helps to smack the slab flat on each side to loosen it up once in a while. This does not hurt the slab at all. The motion is similar to fly fishing. Only you are banging a slab against a table rather hard. Next time I have a rotated coin, I can make a movie of it. I have also tried using a hair dryer to expand the slab, but I would not recomment this because it will damage the slab.

If any of you folks find the zinx cents with the oats and barley stalks, please let me know. I am still missing that one from my collection. I just got the one with the celery stalks yesterdayBob Piazza
