    Hello... Penny forum from heaven!

    Hey everyone...
I stumbled upon this site by chance and it has sparked my interest in collecting Lincoln cents. I fear I have become obsessed now and hold onto everything '83 and before. I really enjoy it more now than ever. I work in a restaurant and see change everyday. I LOVE finding those pennies that for some reason have seen no wear at all. Just yesterday I found a 1960 penny that looked like it has never seen the light of day. No patina at all, just looks like a brand new penny. And my favorite decade for Memorial cents has to be the 60's. Love the large, bold raised features from these years. Any reason they struck them that way??? Just beautiful

Take care and look forward to posting!!!!

Welcome and enjoy. I like the 60' too and have a bunch that look like that. I keep them all and provide them with a 2X2 to keep them that way. They were struck well (deeply) with a good, prominent, rim to protect them.

Welcome aboard! Did you say it had no patina? I thought the patina on a coin was a good thing, and that certain tooth-wrenching cleaning methods take it off.

Just kidding. You'll learn a lot here. Post and enjoy!

I do the exact same thing! I have our servers save the 83's and earlier for me every day. The cash cow for me is living in Charleston SC, we have a lot of Spanish speaking ppl that work for us and in our restaurant, they all have a ton of them at home. I have had 3 employees bring me (guessing here) around 8-12 lb bags of pennies each! Plus the location of our restaurant is near a lot of OLD neighborhoods and some of the coins they choose to spend are super nice. In regular cash exchanges, I find a Weat about 3 times a week. In the past year I have found 6 silver dimes and 2 silver quarters. Sorry for getting off topic but NOW is the time to cash those old piggy banks!

                            Welcome Jilson!
What I'd give to obtain those unsearched coins, dimes, quarters alike.
I had a friend from El-Salvador who went back home and brought back her native coins for me to have. I'm glad you chose us here at LCR to gain knowledge. We have some of the BEST historians here like mustbebob, Jason, Wendell and trails among many others.
