    1951 's penny spelling wrong "in God we trusy"

    I have a penny with a spelling error. Wanna know if anyone has seen that before.

        Very cool and a good eye to see that ! The last T in Trust took a hit in just the right spot that when combined with wear from circulation formed a Y. I doubt it would carry a premium though .

            Welcome!

            It looks like a hit to me.
            Sometimes a hit sort of shears the metal and moves it. A downward hit on center of the T makes a Y.

              Welcome to the forum. I agree with the others. It is displaced metal from damage. Once you learn the minting process, you will realize it is not possible for it to actually be misspelled, unless it was that way on the master hub, which means they would ALL be that way.
