Here I have a 1972 s that is doubled. The main doubling is on the 1972 and the S. I have talked to a few different people. One told me that this IS a double die other say it is a common rotated die. Both people are long term collectors. What should I believe or what is it? Here are a few pictures.
Or is it a double die?

None of the others collectors you talked to are correct in what they call this coin. It is not a doubled die that I can see. Any time doubling affects both the date and mintmark on pre-1990 coins, it almost always is machine doubling (MD). The rotated die response is way out in left field somewhere. I can't tell for sure, but this die might have Master Die doubling on it, but that affects the motto, date, and LIBERTY. It also affects about 60% of all cents minted that year, so there is no premium associated with it.Bob Piazza

Pretty sure I see both master die doubling and some southerly machine doubling on the date...

Jason, I see what you see on the date, and taken with Bob's comments i would concur about the master die doubling, but what exactly are you seeing in the photo of LIBERTY? It is kida small for me.
