A strike through would be incuse. These look raised (are they?). If they are and they're not attributable to clashes then its gouges on the die face. MHO

It's that optical illusion that makes it appear raised. They are incused.

Not sure I understand BJ. Struck thru glue? Would it have that deep of an effect or is affect? I guess that would make sense since you can still see some of the design.

I will not say what I am thinking about what it looks like... LOL... Those appear to be the same thing... Almost a mirror image except the one one the west is stretched and the one to the east looks limp!!!
Jim (A.K.A. Elmer Fudd) Be verwy verwy quiet... I'm hunting coins!!! Good Hunting!!!
Not putting words in BJ's mouth, by glue I think he means something (glue) stuck to the coin. However, if it is incuse, it is not glue or other foreign matter stuck to the coin.
In the pictures, the anomaly looks raised. and since it has a transparency then it would be glue. However, if it is incused, then I am not to sure what it is. The design under the incused area is to defined for a struck through a foreign object, which would lead me to believe that it is post strike damage.
