I found this today it is struck through with wire. There is no visible sign of zinc as would be with this deep of a scratch. Of course I could be wrong. What do you think?
Tracy
There is no zinc visible because of it being struck through...it's not like a scratch. When it's struck through, it's almost like the object becomes part of the die.
I have added a link here to show what a struck through wire should look like. Note the depressed area around the wire,so I am not convinced the material was wire it may be some other anomaly...........Lucien
That's ok, I was just trying to make clear why you didn't see zinc. The link Lucien posted is of a retained struck through wire. That doesn't eliminate this from being struck through wire, but now that I took a second look,it may be PSD.

You have to know where to find the probable answers. That's my tool for learning but make sure you are not misled by the wrong site. Thanks for sharing.
I believe it was Bob that said never toss a coin based only on the answers you get on these forums. I've seen experts give opinions, then Mike Diamond comes along with a totally different view.It happens on all forums and to the best of them. But you will find that LCR members are more prone to change their opinion if somebody points out something that was overlooked.
That's an excellent point Roger. Even on the ones I have misdiagnosed, I never feel like an idiot when I am corrected, and I don't think anyone here can really feel like they are degraded or relegated to the bottom of the barrel. Tact and diplomacy, we have plenty of here. Rude, crude, too opinionated, or overbearing folks, we don't have here. I think we all prefer it that way.

Very true. I'm very grateful and appreciative of all the members who have graciously forgiven my errors in the past and I always feel free and encouraged to continue to share my thoughts and opinions with everyone. I love this forum and everyone in it.
