    Copper plated steel is used by alot of countries including Canada. I think in 2008 they switched completely.

        Come to think of it, I have never really seen a corroded Canadian Cent. Grew up in Michigan where they are abundant in circulation and NEVER seen the PMD that I see in Lincoln cents.

            Yuup - no corrosion because there's no zinc just steel that if I remember correctly is treated not to rust.
