Found this one today and wanted your thoughts. If it's a gouge it is substantial, so I'm leaning to strike through.
Gouge or strike thru?

I'm not very familiar with this but i'd go with gouge. If I were to think of something that was struck through, i'd think the anomaly would be visible on the letters instead of just appearing to pass behind it. But like I said, I'm just going by assumption, I really don't know. lolLast edited by Scott99; 01-08-2012, 10:39 PM.Matthew Sallee -
If it were a die gouge, the anomaly would be in relief (raised) so I think you're leaning the right way enamel

I'm on the fence with this one... A strike thru should also be on the letters while a gouge would be in relief??? I think it's to early for me... The brain has not engaged yet... LOL!!!Jim

Now I am confused. It is raised. Therefore it is not a die gouge? I agree with you first post.
