2001 error?

    Error Other | 2001 error?

    I have this penny that the 1 in the date is crooked. You can see how it should be on it, but it is slanted toward the 0. Sorry if the pictures are blurry and/or hard to read. I am 99.5% sure it's not a 2004.









    It is raised, too, so it isn't a cut or gouge type thing. Is this worth anything other than face value?

      Looks like a coin wrapper pushed the digit. When you look at that area, notice it is bent parallel to the rim. Just damaged. (Last image)

          Yup, it's a damaged coin. By the nature of how coins are minted in this era it is impossible for date digits to be in different places from coin to coin. If the date is messed up on a coin, you can pretty much assume it's damage.
