Error Struck Through | Struck through grease.

Thought this was a pretty nice greaser.

My question is... is is struck through grease or a grease-filled die? Want to post it accurately lol

This would be a grease filled die, and a beauty at that.
a struck though would actually effect the planchet of the coin not just take away detail.

This is a struck though i recently found.

I see the terms used interchangeably, though I would say grease-filled die is technically more correct.

I've actually seen "struck through grease" used more often than "grease filled die". I don't think there are many that will find fault with either term...but let's see what happens on this thread.

Struck through is the correct term. Grease, wire, thead wood, staple, cloth or debris can be the item it is struck through. But with all of these they are "Struck through."
