Error Planchet | 1961-d intrinsic metal inclusion

I was hoping one of the error experts could confirm my diagnostic of intrinsic metal inclusion. This coin came from an OBW roll.

For anyone not familiar with the term, you can read about it here:

    Thanks,
    Jody

Very nice Jody. Though I'm new to the technical term, without looking I'm assuming this is an alloy impurity. I've come across 2 in the last decade, both circulated 62-Ds. Yours is much more dramatic than the examples I have. That's a really neat coin.

Looks right. I would wait for Mike to chime in but I believe you are correct. Nice find! Let me know if it is for sale...

I found one similar to these a year ago. I tossed it back thinking it was a weird stain. EGADS!!!

Nice find Jody! Now I will know what that anomaly is if I ever chance to encounter it.

              Jason,

If Mike or BJ confirm it, then it will definitely be going up for sale. I don't collect errors; I already have too many varieties to worry about!

I would agree with your verdict. The inclusion (probably representing a globule of unmixed tin or zinc) is quite shallow and streaky. But it was probably more compact before it was stretched out by rolling.

Nice find Jody....and strangely enough, I just happened to read about this error this morning (same site).

Interesting error for sure, I will keep my eyes out for one in the future.
