Found 1942-S with a nice obverse cud

Found this in a bank roll about 1/2 year ago. I really like this coin because it's the first cud that I've ever found and it's a great date too!

nice CUD....and from a bank roll to boot...I like the reverse view..showing the lack of detail because of the cud...cool coin

Also, what is the approx value of this coin? I'm not that familiar with varieties. I know that some date cuds are more common then other dates.

Yes, it is quite a textbook cud with the lack of available metal for the reverse. Very interesting.

I've been searching rolls, both tubed and OBW, for 25 years and I have NEVER found a cud. Congrats to you!

That was the first (and only) CUD I've ever found from bank rolls. I've searched for a year and many years when I was much younger. I was certainly very excited when I found it!

A very cool looking cud. Bonus that it is on an older cent as well. Congrats!

On eBay, anywhere from $15-$30 in auction from my experience... but you may get more if someone really likes it.

Wheat CUDs are uncommon, well all CUDs are uncommon. Nice find!
Value is tough. If it has a listing in the CUD book (or supplement) you might find a previous sale. I would suggest searching Teletrade and ebay past sales for older Lincoln CUDs. I would avoid selling it without an informed plan.

At aution (eBay) I'd expect the coin to bring $10-20, but as Alex mentioned, if you get 2 people who really like it, it could bring a little more.

Thanks for the price quotes guys. I was mostly curious. I'd sell it if I had previously bought it but since I found it I probably wouldn't sell it for $100. Sentimental I guess.
