Are all the details raised? This looks like a flip over double struck coin, but we need better and more close up photos.

It sure looks like a promising flip over double struck coin as Bob already noted. A few detail photos would clarify, but it sure does look promising.

Looks like one of the many reasons the Mint banned alcohol consumption more than 12 hours before your shift starts.

I would be willing to take a look at it, or better still, contact Mike Diamond and see what his opinion is.

That looks very promising, as raised detail is nearly impossible to create on a faked error coin. Not to get ahead of ourselves, but I'd give the coin my own vote of confidence. The above authorities will be able to verify it in hand. If this is a flipover double strike, it's worth more than just a pretty penny. Nice.

From what I have seen these sell for maybe $70-180 typically. The condition on yours is not so great, or so it seems. In the condition I am seeing I cannot seeing it going for that much, unless someone really needed an example on that date. Whatever you do, don't clean it with anything.

Thanks for the advice. I would never attempt to clean it. Learned that tip from Antiques Roadshow. Lol
