Error Other | Is this a vice job?

    Hello everyone,

I found this coin last night and I wanted to post about it just in case its not what I think it is. It has recessed (not raised), lettering on the edge of the rim. I assume that this is a vice job where two coins are pressed together, but it appears to be very well done if that's the case. I assume there can be no other explanation for this, but I just wanted to run it by you error guys just to be sure I don't toss something cool! There is no evidence of damage on the coin and the letters appear to be very cleanly impressed. Thanks in advance for any help!

Yeah, mirror imaged. Definitely pressed in from another coin.

They did do some nice handiwork with it though.

That's what I thought! I can't make out the rim marks anywhere and they left the coin otherwise untouched. Thanks for your input!

Yes, mirror-imaged, indicative of a "vise" job. I guess someone that would do that is also guilty of vice, though.

Looks more like it has hammered with another coin and between wood. Just part of the design was transferred. On a vise job all the designs can be transferred.

I think I remember that coin on eBay coop. How much did that go for?. I still have one really close to that around here somewhere just to keep it out of circulation

I told the seller it was a fake and he still sold it. I don't remember how much he got for it. But probably someone got ripped off on it.
