    Error Other | 1982 D anomaly

This is my 3rd submission today of unusual coins I have found over the past few weeks that I am not able to explain why they are the way they are. I appreciate the help I have received on the last 2 coins. Would also appreciate help on this 1982 D having a very weak 198, Lincoln image and all lettering on the obverse. Thanks, Joel

Ya got me on this one Joel....my inclination is some sort of PMD, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone more experienced in errors says differently.

It might be a struck through error. (grease) The nose is weak and the LIBERTY is almost gone also.

I'm going to say it was probably struck through grease. Maybe some circulation issue since then. Not sure it would carry a premium.

Thanks, Maineman, Coop, Jcuve and Enamel7 for your interest and knowledge. I will keep this out of the ordinary and intriguing example of "stuck through grease" in my collection of oddities.
