    Error Other | Tappered or thin planchette, or stuck throug?!

    I re pulled this coin from a pile I had determined dammaged. After seeing it again, in sure there is something else going on. You can see the obvious lack of detail on both sides, and the coin is very thin only in that area. It has a weight of 2.5. Anyone know what happened? Thanks!

    Even though it has a little damage, I don't think it's all damage.
    It does look like it might be a tapered planchet or something, see what others think.

      Yes, it's a tapered planchet. The 1950s produced many such errors.
