Found this 86 LMC this afternoon roll searching.
The coin is not level- it appears to be dented like put into a vise to make these impressions, but I'm not sure if this is how it was made so please opinions welcomed!
Is this real or did someone mess with this cent?
In looking at the letters in America on the obverse, the AM is close - that being the case, how did this get on the coin if its a 1986 cent when a close AM on a cent was not made until 1993, unless this is not the wording for a cent but a different denomination?
Also the impressions of the columns on the reverse appear to be raised,- not indented like the letters ON on the reverse.
Very strange penny - if not real, its definitely a nice conversational/educational piece thats for sure!
