    Error Other | 2016D Anomaly

I'm always looking for something wrong with Denver Shield Cents and never find anything.

This is unusual... just crossed my mind that it could be a die clash... but I don't think so (typically the L of Liberty would be there). I don't see anything else on this coin.

The anomaly is raised and it appears to be on top of the upper left of the N of United.

Thank you for taking a look!

Interesting. Some kind of die damage I think.

Thank you George for looking! I was looking for trails and was like... good grief what is this circle looking thing? I severely lack knowledge on error coins, I'm still trying to figure out what is right... to know what is wrong LOL I was wondering a strike through? but never really saw one of those except I have a 1960 something that is struck through wire bristles. But this just looks raised.

Found another one, not as pronounced though it appears to be from the same die. I'm seeing the same tiny die chips on top of the U and R of PLURIBUS. The first coin appears to be an earlier die state.

Then I found another one just like the first one. Must be some type of die damage George.

A few years ago there was a rash of assorted years showing up with rings on them... Most were on the rev of memorials... I do not remember if any one ever found out what was causing it??? If memory serves me correctly JCuve was looking into these??? Some look like crop circles and others flying saucers

Since you found multiples, I would have to say some sort of die damage. I have a 1952 that has something like that on the reverse under some of the letters of the motto. These are always interesting but taking a guess at what caused them is a shot in the dark.

Thank you very much Bob for taking a look! I'm determined to find a Denver Shield cent trail die, but so far it has been challenging!

                I agree, die damage.
