Error Struck Through | Struck Through or Lamination?

Not sure what to label this. It is a copper cent, but it looks more to me like there is extra metal than metal peeling off. (It's not incuse)

Does it look like it's peeling up? Never mind, scratch that. So I take it, it looks nothing like this:

      LOL!
Well it looks like it's on top of the surface. If you look close you can see the entire outline of it, Like a piece of foil was in the die almost.

I just wondering if it took a hit in a certain way that makes it look like a piece of extra metal on his cheek. Or the area around that anomaly is incuse, struck thru??

Old age sag To me it looks like displaced metal from a hit and wear... There is also an area on the chin that is similar in nature... The one on the cheek does appear to lap up over the cheek bone but the pic is a little to blurred in that spot for me to tell for sure!!!

            Great Pics!
Mine looks like your 3rd pic through my loupe when viewed from the side or bottom, but I can't discern the edge when viewed from the top. I guess it's possible it's a lamination error and the top just hasn't released yet, but you can see where it would release if it did.
I don't think it's incuse around the area though.
My only other thought is if it was a piece of extra metal, the top part of it was struck into a deeper part of the die making it more firmly adhered there?

I should probably follow Occam's Razor on this.
Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected.

            Lamination error.. :P
