The Lincoln were solid coins until mid 1982 with the except of the 1943s... 1943 Lincolns were zinc plated steel... I can not really tell on the close ups... My computer still is acting up!!!Jim

First, it cannot be a plating issue, since this is not a plated coin. That practice only started in 1982.
