    Error Other | Demon Lincoln...?

Pretty sure this is a die gouge, but it could be the beginnings of a crack too. Looks like `ol Honest Abe's gone to the DarkSide!

Did you bump the scanner while you were scanning this coin??? The pic looks blurry to me??? Unless my computer is getting ready to crash on me

Yes, between "We" and "Trust". Sorry, I was going to put an arrow in and changed my mind lol.

No, it's definitely the scanner, Jim. Especially anything MS like this cent the reflections mess with it I think. It likes paper, not metal!

I can't tell from the photo if it just a gouge in the coin or die damage. Need a better pic.

I'll give it the `ol "College Try". Scanner seems to have issues with MS coins in general, and if I 'fuss' with it too much in PSP it just looks like kaka.

Maybe B/W is actually better in this case...

Not a hit, even though there's some tiny ones on the rim. There WAS a tiny bit of schmeg on the inside of the chip that came off with some water...here's another pic.

Could be a crack or a plating issue, too blurry to tell from the pics.

The BW pic worked better for me... Looks like a hit that displaced some metal???

My hard drive crashed this morning just as I was checking out the thread on a 43... I was able to do a recovery but am down to 100 GB from a 250 GB drive... Lost a few things and it moves slower than I do LOL... This computer is at least 6 years old so I may get a new one!!!

I'd backup all your pics and stuff you don't want to lose (either your own storage or online, lots of free places), and just go clean OS install. I do that at least once a year, since my machine is getting up there too =)

I do the backup of important items at least monthly on a USB hard drive... I have lost a bunch of things in the past that I was unable to recover... A clean install will not help this old machine I have done that twice in the last year... The hard drive has too many bad sectors or read/write heads on it!!!
