Something is making me think... it's not. There seems to be too much space at the edge of the coin, or maybe it's the photo. Could it be some kind of die dent? Dang it... I hope I am wrong, I know how hard it is to find a cud!!!
To me it looks as if that area was abraded... I see lines that run up across the field and up on to the edge... I do not see any thing that looks as if it cracked and chipped out to make it a cud... Could be the mint was trying to prevent a cud, due to damage, and ground that area of the die down!!!

How did the Caffeine Drip go??? Still see the abrasions so I am leaning toward the repaired damage theory... By the way your first set of pics were fine... I
think Vivien needs a new pair of glasses or more coffee Thanks for the follow up pics the first set really did have a little to much glare but it wouldn't be me if I didn't pick on some one

It does appear a little flat across the top and that could explain why there are no visible abrasions in that area... There is never enough coffee for me and we all know about my eye sight

I believe that there was a nice even hit to the rim. Thee improved pictures show a nice straight area on the rim. I could probably reproduce the look by experimenting with various drops of a tap with a hammer to move the copper/zinc. Also a picture blends in the rim where ever slightly flattens out.
Even a fool can look wise if he keeps his mouth closed.
I'm thinking this was damage to the die. I see tje flat area of the rim but it does not seem lower than the rest of the rim as if the coin tiok a hit. The lines Jim mentioned look to be flow lines and not abrasions so after tje die took a hit these lines developed from striking coins.
You should check the obverse of this coin for die dents.
