I had not seen this yet and wondered how common this was. It would appear to have machine doubling on both sides of Abe from his hair to the bottom of the bust. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Jon.

Nice call on the MD... There have been some coins with MD on all devices or almost all on the obv and rev... Harder to come by but they are out there... I think I still have one I found... I will try to find it and get some pics of it!!!Jim

Thank you sir. There was very slight MD on the letters on the obverse and reverse but very little, mostly just Abe. I just thought that was odd how it was so extreme but isolated.Comment

You can have machine doubling on both faces, and in multiple directions on each face. I've written several columns on this effect and have one coming out in Coin World next week.Comment

Thanks Mike!! I've seen machine doubling several times on different denominations but had never seen it on both sides of a devise. Thank you for your input and it looks like I just need to break down and subscribe to Coin World. You folks are killing it here!Comment

I'm glad Mike Diamond chimed in... I have been unable to find the coin with MD on both sides and all devices... I will need to go thru my images on the site here and see if it is available... If I remember correctly it was a 1998P and I found it in 2011???Jim
