Error Die Crack | 1961D RRDC

At first I thought it was dried jelly. See Cuds-On-Coins. Thanks for looking.

Nice rim to rim die crack! I can see why it would look like dried jelly, that die crack is thick and it goes all over the place! Congrats Larry J! Please send your images to JC! Looks like a new listing for you!!!

Very cool Larry!! Very nice find!! The obverse is really extreme! It looks like a crevice on the reverse. Is that raised or open?

Good eye, Jim!! I didn't even see it in hand. Yes, the reverse goes rim to rim also. I will take some pics.

The crack splits at the L of PLU and one fork goes north along the edge of the T and to the rim. The other fork goes east and stops below of.

Where is the crevice? I can't see it.

                  Very neat looking.
What is causing the shiny appearance by WE and the front of the face?

I didn't notice anything unusual, but the surface has different shades, a kind of mottled look.

I believe he is referring to the opening on the reverse rim just below UNITED.

Looks to me like light reflection... The shape of the crack and chips along with the multi color surface is refracting the light for the pic in strange ways!!!

Cool Larry... Thanks for the follow up and pics... Can't tell for sure but it looks like both sides have a bit of a shift going on - Maybe this can be a dual retained CUD also???

I was thinking the same thing Jim, even looked to see if there was a reverse CUD similar for this year and didn't see one. Larry J email JC and see, JC may want to see this coin in hand. It's a doozie!
