Error Die Crack | 1945 D Spike with a little extra

Not finding a lot lately but thought this was kind of cool. It would appear to be a listed Spike (SKH-1c-1945D-01)http://cuds-on-coins.com/lincoln-cen...ads-1940-1949/. It also has another unrelated break on the jacket that is not listed or mentioned with the spike. I checked out IDB's and RIDB's and did not see anything.

    Thanks for looking, Jon.

Hi Jon! Nice SKH! Cool you were able to match it up on cuds-on-coins.com. Could be your find is a later die state and that's why the die crack and chips on the vest were not mentioned in the listing. Please send JC an email with a link to this thread so he can stop by and take a look.

Nice find... Looks like a really late die stage... Comparing yours with the listed sample the spike on yours appears to have spider out in the hair and of course the massive crack on the jacket... The MM position looks spot on!!!

J.C. got back with me a few days ago and explained that the area on the jacket was a scratch or hit that had been folded over. After going back and looking at the pic I could see exactly what he was talking about. I have seen this before with silver dollars that have been knifed and over time the metal was folded over and looked like a break. Good eye J.C., thanks!! So my coin was the same as the existing listing.
