    Error Die Clash/Break | 1982 D L on jacket??

Does anyone else see the L on the jacket? Is it possible for an L to be get there in a clash?

Not sure its an L but it may be a "dropped" letter, or part of one. I assume it is incuse.

Could the "L", over the VDB actually be part of an "E" (ONE CENT) if it is incuse? (Vise job?)
Looks like a number of things going on in that neck of the woods. Something else towards the left corner of the bust as well running NE to SW slightly. Probably PSD but there seems to be a recess around it that highlights it.

If its an L it appears correctly oriented for a dropped letter. Of course the other and more likely scenario is an impression from another coin and not necessarily a cent.

Regardless of what it is and how it got there, that's cool looking Sheila! Nice catch.

Cool looking... I do see it and it looks like a L... To me it looks as if the vertical bar has a knub sticking out like a serif so I am leaning toward a dropped letter... Chunk of compacted grease fell out of a die and got struck into the coin??? Maybe send a PM to Bob or Mike Diamond to have a look to make sure!!!

Mike Diamond said that the L is likely due to a hit from another coin.
